MuscleZine recently spoke with IFBB pro Claude Groulx about his many accomplishments.

Q & A with IFBB Pro Claude Groulx

Weight (competition and off-season): 225 pounds on stage, 250 pounds off season.

Hometown: Montreal, Canada

Q.: When did you first start bodybuilding, and why?

A.: At 19 years old I tried it with a friend as a challenge, and I fell in love with the sport from the first day.

Q.: What's your workout regimen like?

A.: Chest and abs, back and traps, shoulders and abs, biceps and triceps, legs and calves I train five days and take two off.

Q.: What about your diet? What do you eat on a daily basis?

A.: In the off season, I eat almost everything while maintaining high-protein meals. Pre-contest, I cut down on the fat and the carbs gradually. I eat a lot of chicken breast from the grill and fish 3 to 4 times per week.

Q.: What titles have you won?

A.: Mr. Canada 1992 and 1994, overall in both.

Q.: What shows are you currently preparing for?

A.: Mr. Olympia 2002 and European tour.

Q.: You've been doing some guest appearances overseas, most recently in Egypt. Can you tell us a bit about that?

A.: I was in Cairo where I did some seminars in the two Gold's gyms and I'm negotiating more appearances in the Middle East.

Q.: Do you want to talk about anabolics at all?

A.: Maybe in another interview.

Q.: What advice do you have for any amateurs out there for others who are interested in possibly starting a weight-training program?

A.: Train for the love of it and don't put too much pressure on yourself with competition, just be patient and the results will come with time.

Q.: What do you like to do in your free time when you're not training?

A.: I like to go out for dinner and to go see a movie. I also like the beach a lot since my wife and I live in Miami now.

Q.: Tell us something interesting about yourself that your fans may not know?

A.: I love animals and I have two dogs, a rottweiller of nine years, Roxy, and a mini schnauzer, 3 years old, Stanley.
